School Governors wanted...

Would you like to make a difference to your local community? Do you have skills and experience that could help support local primary schools?

St Dominic and St Mellion Schools Federation is a successful partnership. Our governing body are looking for a number of additional Governors to support the schools on this journey. We need volunteers who can commit to two evenings each term, several daytime meetings or school visits per term, plus attendance at occasional events.

As a Governor, you will be involved in key decisions about how our schools are run. We have an important strategic role, making decisions in the best interest of our pupils, working closely together with the Senior Leadership Team. We are involved in all aspects of school life, including curriculum, school development, premises management, health and safety, finance and staffing.

While you don’t need to have any specialist knowledge, you will have good organisational skills, work well with other people and want to give something back to your community. You will be comfortable being part of a team or leading a committee, working towards a common goal. Above all, you’ll enjoy having an exciting and challenging role within a learning environment.

By giving a few hours of your time, you can make a real difference to the children in our communities. To find out more and for an application form, please call 01579 350581 or email us at secretary@st-dominic.cornwall.sch.uk.
